About me

I’m Alex Donahue, a senior at Concordia University Wisconsin studying Visual Communication, set to graduate in Spring 2026. My focus is on branding, typography, and layout, and I enjoy creating design that blends clarity with creativity.

Art and design have always been part of my life, starting with drawing and painting at a young age and growing into a passion for visual communication. Through coursework, I’ve built experience with projects such as identity systems, a type specimen book, a restaurant menu, and editorial design. These taught me to approach design as problem-solving while keeping storytelling at the center.

What I enjoy

I love exploring typography, building identities, and creating print pieces that feel thoughtful and cohesive. Each class project is a chance to refine my process and push my skills further. I’m skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), typography, and layout design, with a strong foundation in branding and visual communication.
