Structure & Contrast: A Poster Project
Structure & Contrast is a quadrant poster project that explores the design philosophies of Josef Müller-Brockmann and Armin Hofmann. The poster is divided into four quadrants, each showcasing different applications of grid systems and expressive design techniques.
Project brief
Project Brief: Create an educational poster based on two Communication Design figures. I chose Josef Müller-Brockmann and Armin Hofmann.
Design Approach: The poster is divided into four quadrants: type-only, image-only, type-dominant, and image dominant. Each quadrant showcases a distinct application of grid vs. expression. The full composition balances Müller-Brockmann's Swiss precision with Hofmann's dynamic layouts, reflecting a conversation between structure and spontaneity.
